Static URLs are known to be better than Dynamic URLs because of the following reasons:

  • Static URLs typically rank better in Search Engines.
  • Search Engines are known to index the content of dynamic pages much slower than that of static pages.
  • Static URLs are always more friendly to end-users.

TomatoCart implements the Rich Keyword URL for products, categories, reviews, articles, etc. Rich Keyword URL includes the name of content instead of the ID. For example, below is a rich keyword URL created for apple macbook air:

http://www.tomatocart.com/apple-macbook-air-with-133-display-p-19.html

The italic part of the URL is composed of two parts, the product name and the product ID in the shopping system.

The latest SEO improvements in TomatoCart V1.1 include:

  • Enable admin to control page title, meta keywords and meta description for home page, articles categories, articles, manufacturers
  • Update the page title = page title + "-" + store name
  • Add a meta page field in template class to separate the page title with the meta page title
