During the early 2000s’ gaming community was absolutely crazy about MMORPGs. Big immersive worlds, ability to play with friends online, levelling up and climbing the virtual social ladder, everything here is really a great concept. Also much like Unibet bonus code 2020, the games rewarded dedicated players, and that’s always fun.
However, the popularity of the genre gradually dropped off, due to multiple reasons. Some players got bored, others simply did not have enough free time as before for such a commitment, and there were other new releases so people wanted to try different games.
That being said, the genre is still plenty popular today, and millions of people love playing MMORPGs.
Since a lot of time has passed, and the games have certainly evolved, it would be fun to see what are some of the most popular MMORPGs of today.
The Elder Scrolls Online
It took some time before Elder Scrolls became an MMO but it was really worth it, as it is one of the best RPGs today. It has great customization options along with a large world that players can basically explore any way they choose. This is thanks to the level scaling system that was recently introduced to the game. One of the best aspects of the game is the gripping story that players get to enjoy, which is a trademark of all of the previous Elder Scroll games.
Final Fantasy 14
Much like with the Elder Scrolls, a lot of time has passed until we got the MMO version of the Final Fantasy game. Final Fantasy started as one of the most famous JRPGs, and the MMO version definitely kept a lot of that core audience for the genre. Really the only reason why an MMORPG fan would not play FF14 is that JRPG is not their cup of tea. The design is incredible, the game is in the iconic Final Fantasy setting where epic armour and space battles go together, so if you played older Final Fantasy games you will absolutely love it.
World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft is one of the original games that sparked the main hype for the MMORPG genre back in the day. We are unlikely to see any MMO with the player base as large as WoW back in Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The game is still alive and kicking and it recently got a new expansion called Shadowlands, so it’s in the center of attention once more. With lots of classes and different races, professions, awesome cosmetics, and hundreds of mounts, it really became a so-called theme park RPG but a lot of players love it for it.
Ashes of Creation
Ashes of Creation is still in its alpha, but MMORPG fans all over the world are extremely excited for this new game. The development team really listens to player’s feedback and addresses some of the main issues players have with current MMOs out there.
So far the features that were announced sound absolutely amazing, as you’ll be able to form cities, governments, attack other cities and whatever happens it will have an impact on the surrounding zones. It really looks like the best thing that will have everyone go crazy for MMORPG games. We all just hope the game lives up to the hype, and we get a brand new immersive world to play in.
